Q&A — Tarpon

Q&A: What is the best hook to land the most tarpon? Size?

Posted by Ross Gallagher on

Our best hookup ratio on hooks will be from the Soft Circle Hook (4/0 Size) or the Barbarian Swimbait Hook (10/0 Size for 10” Size Soft Baits) Both offer excellent penetration on tarpon and a higher landing ratio than conventional style jigs and hooks. Q&A: Setting the Hook for Tarpon & Snook with Barbarian Jig Heads

Posted by Hogy Lures Staff on

Question I’ve recently started using the Hogy lures here in S. Florida for Snook and Tarpon. My setup consist of 7in paddle tails and your custom 1oz 10/0 Babarian jig heads. Q&A: Best Soft Baits for Windy Days Flats Fishing Tarpon

Posted by Booster Apps on

How Can I Leverage The Wind? Question: I spend two months each spring chasing tarpon along the flats of the Florida Keys. I’ve had great success using the Original Series Soft Baits for schooling tarpon. It’s frequent during the month of March and April to have 15-20knot winds, this makes accurately casting large soft baits pretty difficult.
