7/8 oz Mackerel gets it done

Love the 7/8oz epoxy when I need a little more distance, casting into the wind or casting from shore. Did really well with the Albies on 7/8oz Mackerel lure this fall.

      PEANUTS!

They pour out of the harbors as the night time temperature drips. They hold to the beaches, shorelines and shoals for pritection. I am going to take the 7/8 ounce Pranut Bunker colored epoxy jig and run it close to the bottom for fluke along the shoreline that are making their way west in Long Island Sound. Albies like Peanuts too! I throw a small cast net for Peanut Bunker holding to the shoal outside of Stony Brook Harbors inlet.

      No Brainer

Right weight to cast a mile and get ahead of the speedsters. Rigged with VMC Permasteel 4X hooks and heavy split rings. Covered with epoxy. Slightly offset to wobble a little. Avle to work the whole water colmn. Heavy enough to drop for ground fish between the action casting. One more thing. Have you ever seen a Bay Anchovy? McGowan over at Cow Harbor Bait and Tackle took the time to post this photo the other day. They are all over the place. My brother and I used to seine them off the shoreline. I am going to cast it to the outside of the school so it stands spart or drag/twitch it slowly on or nearthe bottom where they just were to see if I can get the Chaperone.
