(4) Hogy Heavy Minnow: The Hogy Heavy Minnow Series is our go-to when tiny forage is abundant. Featuring long-range metals as small as 1” long. It’s easy to imitate even the smallest of anchovy, sand eel, and rain bait. We recommend downsizing tackle appropriately. Dropping down to long 10-12lb fluorocarbon leaders and utilizing long casts can crack the code. The jigs can be fished with a stop and drop retrieve at medium to medium-fast speeds.

I have two Penn 9’/5000 setups tuned specifically to throw these 3.5 oz heavy minnows into the wind from the beach on great point (Nantucket). They get me to the fish, and the fish will almost always hit this, pink, or green patterns.

Great Lure
Casts very far, which is important for Albies, and they love the pink color, my favorite. Plus it is very durable . Go get yourself one.
Epoxy brother
Replaces the classic epoxy when the drift is too fast and I don’t want a long epoxy. Works like a charm!

I bought this product to target seabass in long island sound and in Montauk I really bought the lures because epoxy jigs are very effective for seabass and porgies in shallow water but are not heavy enough to fish effectively in strong tides or in deeper water. The pink color scheme has been very effective in both epoxy lures and in squinnow jigs but you no longer make that color squinnow. These heavy metal jigs worked their magic for seabass in the western sound and out east in Clinton CT
