I have been using the Hogy tubes for catching striped bass. I mainly fish from a kayak and prefer the 19" tubes but have had success with both the 24" and 15" tubes. I attach an 18" leader with a stainless steel ball bearing swivel at the end to minimize line twist. I prefer to put a live seaworm on the hook but have caught fish using Gulp sand worms and Fishbites. I like the Hogy tubes because they maintain there shape well and spiral effectively when trolled. The chain connection to the hook can become kinked and should be checked after unhooking a fish. It is easily straightened by twisting the hook.

Out of the package, these tubes work really well. They hold up extremely well. I bought 3 colors to try. I have used them on my charter boat on 3 trips so far fishing for Striped Bass and Blues around Block Island in Rhode Island. 32 overs, 10 slots, 1 short and a few blues. Still using the same 2 tubes. I am really happy with how they have been catching for me. Highly recommend giving a couple a shot.

First time using these tubes this year was incredible. Trolling these are lead core line with fairly light set ups was very rewarding. Many big striped bass this year on these tubes in water in less than 26'. Landed a 28lb fish and the following week caught a boat record on a tube of 30 lbs, 42" long. I prefer the colors in wine and black. These work tremendously. I even added a bait keeper to the hook for soft plastics. Love these tubes.
