The Hogy Trolling Weight is the depth multiplier for the Perfect Tube system. Dual ball-bearing swivels eliminate twist, 3 oz and 4 oz options cover shallow to deep lanes, and the compact design doesn’t interfere with the tube’s natural swim.

"The Depth Multiplier."

The In-Line Trolling Weight:
The tube system lives and dies on depth control, and depth control lives and dies on the trolling weight. This isn’t an afterthought accessory — it’s the reason the Perfect Tube can fish 8 feet and 35 feet on the same rod with the same braid. The Hogy Trolling Weight was designed specifically to pair with the Perfect Tube, and the engineering is in the swivels.
Tubes rotate. That’s what makes them swim so seductively. But rotation destroys leaders and tangles running line if you don’t manage it. The textbook solution is a swivel three feet above the tube. The Hogy Trolling Weight takes that further: dual ball-bearing swivels built into the weight itself, paired with the swivel built into the tube. Triple twist protection. Virtually twist-free trolling, no matter how long the pass.
Dual Ball-Bearing Swivels: The defining feature. Two precision ball-bearing swivels built into the weight body eliminate line twist completely when paired with the tube’s integrated swivel. This is triple twist protection: tube swivel + weight swivel + weight swivel. The result is a system that trolls for hours without fouling your running line or leader.
Precision Depth Control: The weight transforms the tube’s depth range. A 19” tube unweighted runs 8–15 ft on braid. Add 3 oz and it holds 10–25 ft. Add 4 oz and it pushes 15–30 ft. The difference between finding fish and trolling over their heads is often one weight size. Carry both.
Compact, Fishable Design: Small enough to troll cleanly without adding drag or altering the tube’s natural swim. Swims true, doesn’t foul, keeps the presentation locked in the strike zone. No clunky hardware, no tangling risk.

“I've been using these trolling weights for a couple of years and they work great on spoons and eels. This is the only place I've seen these weights with in-line ball bearings. ” Hogy Customer George D.

Trolling Applications:
- Trolling Weight → Perfect Tube
The primary pairing. The weight exists to extend the tube’s depth range. Start unweighted in skinny water, add 3 oz as fish push deeper, step up to 4 oz for deep contours and heavy current.
- Trolling Weight → Deep Diver
When even the 4 oz + 24” tube can’t reach fish holding 30+ ft, switch to the Deep Diver. The Diver tracks 15–30 ft on its own bill without needing added weight. The trolling weight stays in the box; the plug does the depth work.
- Trolling Weight → OG Swimmer (Trolling Mode)
The OG Swimmer trolls beautifully on spinning tackle without added weight in the 2–8 ft zone. The trolling weight can push it slightly deeper for structure-adjacent passes, but most OG Swimmer trolling is unweighted.
