Franken Macro Chug Popper

The Macro Chug is unlike anything I’ve worked on before. Normally, a plug starts in my head or on the water. This one started in the hands of 757 anglers. We called it the Franken Popper because, like the original monster, it was stitched together from many parts — poppers, pencils, walkers — all fused into one hybrid body and jolted to life. Every design choice traces back to that community data: size, shape, balance, action, finish, eye placement. It’s the first crowd-sourced lure in saltwater fishing.

These lures are distinguished by their small lip, which allows them to navigate near the water's surface. The Perfect Needlefish is the most subtle hardbait in the Hogy system. Where poppers shout, walkers whisper, and swimmers wobble, the Needlefish barely moves at all. A slow, predictable glide with just enough tail shimmy to look alive. That restraint is the entire point. When fish are pressured, spooked, feeding on slender bait in dead-calm water, or hunting by feel at night, the Needlefish is the plug that matches their mood.

It shares the same internal ballast system as the Surface Eraser — belly always down, turns flat on the cast, precision balance from nose to tail. Two sizes cover every sand eel and spearing scenario from estuaries to the open surf.

Micro Chug Poppers

A compact, high-floating topwater popper built for microbait and high-pressure feeds. Its clean, minimal splash pop and precise control make it deadly for false albacore, bonito, and other selective feeders when small forage is the key.
