Inshore Casting: Plugs

"One Series. Full Water Coverage."

The Hogy Inshore Plug Series is a purpose-built system of surface, subsurface, and deep-diving hard baits designed to help anglers solve the full range of inshore casting scenarios. Whether you’re walking a surface plug across a calm flat, chugging a popper through a blitz, swimming a needlefish through current, or probing deeper water with a diving plug, each bait in the series fills a specific role within a broader tactical system. The result is a versatile plug lineup built to help anglers cover water efficiently, match key forage, and stay ready for everything from subtle surface feeds to aggressive open-water explosions.

How to Fish a Chug Popper for Bonito

A compact, high-floating topwater popper built for microbait and high-pressure feeds. Its clean, minimal splash pop and precise control make it deadly for false albacore, bonito, and other selective feeders when small forage is the key. Matches silversides, bay anchovies, and juvenile squid, excelling in slick water, along estuary mouths, and in open-water blind-cast situations.

Topwater Bonito | Fishing Fast and Slow

In this new Salty Cape shoot I joined Diogo from Gorilla Tactics Charters to chase late season bonito on topwater. Feeds were quick and the fish were a little finicky, but nothing beats watching them crush plugs on the surface

Catching Bass Keyed In On Tiny Squid

In today's episode, Captain Mike explores Open Water Structure between Gay Head (Martha's Vineyard) and Noman's Land, where he finds Striped Bass feeding on Micro Bait. They are easily spooked and boat pressure can easily put them down, so Mike explains how to crack the code for these finicky fish.

Large Nantucket Striped Bass In The Rips | Stemming The Tide

Captain Mike and the crew head out East of Nantucket to target large striped bass in the Rips. Captain Phil Moore of Moore Yacht Sales shows how even larger center consoles like his Costa Custom 34SV can be used to stem the tide, keeping the anglers in the strike zone.

Fall Run Fishing in Buzzards Bay with Captain Ray Jarvis | Salt of the Earth Charters

Join Captain Ray Jarvis of Salt of the Earth Charters as he takes on an exciting day of fall run fishing in Buzzards Bay! We’re targeting some of the biggest albies and striped bass of the season. Striped Bass Approach: Fished near structure using the XL Dog Walker, with a walk-the-dog technique to trigger strikes

Cape Cod Topwater Popper Bonito Fishing

Salty Cape TV joins Capt. Ray Jarvis on an exciting day of topwater bonito fishing in Buzzards Bay. This video captures an exciting fishing adventure off the coast of Westport, Massachusetts, where anglers target Bonito using topwater poppers. The action takes place in late July

Catching Striped Bass in Boulder Fields

In this video, Capt. Mike takes us on an evening trip to the Elizabeth Islands targeting boulder field stripers using the OG Swimmer for fish tucked in along shallow boulders.

Finicky Striped Bass On Surface Erasers

In this video, Captain Mike shares his expert techniques for targeting finicky stripers feeding on small, slow-moving bait. High wind conditions required long-distance casting and precise control, while boat-shy stripers needed a subtle approach to avoid spooking them. The Hogy Charter Grade Surface Eraser was the effective lure of choice, known for its long casting distance, soft bait-like action, and high durability. This lure imitates small baitfish and can be fished slowly or just below the surface.

Surface Dogwalker Rips Stripers

Capt. Ray Jarvis hosts this exciting topwater-filled video targeting finicky striped bass holding in rips selectively feeding on sand eels and squid using the Charter Grade Dog Walker. When the tide slacks off, Capt. Ray switches gears and shows us how to us the Squinnow Jig to target stripers holding in deep water near the bottom.

Finicky Striped Bass | Micro Bait | Surface Erasers

Captain Mike joins Captain Ray Jarvis for a striper fishing session in Buzzards Bay, discussing their techniques for early-season fishing. They use a 'Walk & Gun' approach to drift towards schools of fish, utilizing light tackle and slow retrieves with the Hogy Surface Eraser. The focus is on distance casting and subtle movements to attract finicky fish. The fishing conditions are windy, and they adjust their tackle accordingly for better results, emphasizing humane catch-and-release practices

How To Troll Plugs for Deepwater Tarpon

Capt. Ross Gallagher walks through trolling techniques for targeting finicky tarpon suspended in deepwater channels using the Hogy 5" Swimming Plug. Designed to swim at 10' - 12' depths, this trolling plug effectively targets the feeding zone of suspended tarpon when trolled at slow speeds. Tarpon trolling is common in certain geographic regions, but is largely and untapped method of target tarpon across the South East.
