Description

These simple Dog Walkers have been carefully tuned for easy walk-the-dog action with minimal effort. Weighing 1.75oz they are a dream to cast on heavy inshore and medium-heavy offshore gear.

The Charter Dog Walker features multiple rattle chambers for extra sound and vibration, tuna grade through wired construction, and 4X HD rigging.

Designed for trophy species, these Dog Walkers are perfect for Striper, Bluefish, Tunas, Snook, and Tarpon. Keeping in tune with their “Charter Grade” namesake, the Dog Walker is available in only a handful of fishy colors that catch fish, not fishermen. The rigged version comes pre-rigged the way a professional would fish them “out of the package”.

    Dog Walker ultimate Rip Plug

This plug profile and presentation is great for both Infront of the rip and also in the rip.

Taking the back hook off does not lose any hookups and is a great sight to see multiple bass hitting the plug seeing it cascade through the air.,

    Outstanding!

Watching friends casting and casting and no fish. I let them use one of my hogy lures and instantly they started catching fish! Stripers and Albies caught all day with hogy lures. Nothing can beat them!

Design Considerations For Single Hook Plugs

We (as an industry and anglers collectively) are receiving new data indicating how damaging two hooks can be on a lure for catch-and-release fishing. As a result, we’re making big changes in on the hook front as we launch our # Hogy Hook 1 platform. Here, you’ll find an inside look on how and why we design lures

Conservation and Safety Factors with Plugs

A Deep Look at Hooks and Survival Rates of Striped Bass: Here at Hogy and Salty Cape, we have been thinking about the ways we can better contribute to conservation of these awesome fish we chase each year. At Hogy, we have committed huge resources for a small company like ours to research and develop lures that kick ass.

Performance of 1 vs 2 Hooks On Plugs

First, let’s decompose (one) hook vs (two) hooks in performance terms: One Hook Pros: Efficiency: Easier and faster to release fish, thereby increasing lure time in the water. Improved Action: When rigged properly, or designed for one hook, many lures perform better with a single hook with less hardware to encumber the action.

Hook Influence on Lure Action

Weight and Balance: Hook size can affect the weight and balance of a lure, potentially altering its action. Larger hooks might weigh down a lure, changing its swimming pattern, while smaller hooks might allow for a more natural presentation. Optimal swimming the action of the lure.
