    Lightweight versatile rod.

Landed several bluefin tuna up to 100lbs on this rod trolling sidetracker bars and working vertical jigs. This rod is lightweight, strong and forgiving.

    Great lookin rods

I bought these rods actually for next season I am thinking of using Shimano’s Speedmaster two speed. I will rig them for jigging and live bait, but also possible on the troll. I gave them 5 stars because of the looks, feel and I believe they will work great!

Excellent rod for tuna - versatile!

Love these rods. As a charter captain on a Center Console where space is at a premium, these rods perform and allow for versatility. I use these when I am trolling for tuna in my 5 rod spread and then can convert them to jigging as we switch up tactics. I'm a big fan! This video is of us landing a 59 inch rec tuna in Sept 2023

FAQ

Quick answers for most commonly asked questions about the The Hogy Lean Rod System

How does Capt. Mike use this rod?

Capt. Mike: I keep two permanently on the boat—though I’ll bring more if I’m trolling offshore. They’re my daily drivers for tube & worm and swimming plugs inshore, deep-water groundfish, and light tackle tuna trolling. It’s low-profile but high-output. If I could only bring one conventional rod for inshore/offshore crossover use, this is it.
