Description

In the Hogy Lean Rod System, Hybrid Rods are the glue—the smart middle gear that handles both inshore and offshore missions without blinking. Designed with moderate-fast actions, compact profiles, and balanced
power curves, these rods are built to fish hard across both environments. We find anglers use these outfits more than they expected to. (Myself Included - Capt. Mike)

    Great rods

Got the twin pack. Very well built single piece rods with reinforced eyes. Nice and compact for boating. Will pare with avets as in the hogy videos. Great for strippers and big blues. Will buy more! Excellent shipping experience as always.

    Great lookin rods

I bought these rods actually for next season I am thinking of using Shimano’s Speedmaster two speed. I will rig them for jigging and live bait, but also possible on the troll. I gave them 5 stars because of the looks, feel and I believe they will work great!

Excellent rod for tuna - versatile!

Love these rods. As a charter captain on a Center Console where space is at a premium, these rods perform and allow for versatility. I use these when I am trolling for tuna in my 5 rod spread and then can convert them to jigging as we switch up tactics. I'm a big fan! This video is of us landing a 59 inch rec tuna in Sept 2023

Gets the job done, can't beat it for the price

Got the job done with the Hogy hybrid rod last month South of the Vineyard. Perfect action for this 54" BFT.

No Outrigger Bluefin Tuna Trolling + Hogy Directional Bird Bar

Capt. Mike Hogan shows us how to deploy a 5-rod no-outrigger tuna spread using the Hogy Directional Tuna Splash Bird Bars for trolling scattered tuna in Cape Cod Bay. The Hogy 18" Pocket Splash Bar has a place in every spread. Its small size makes it easy to manage on light tackle and traditional gear. The bird is made out of super lightweight foam that is impossibly strong. The oversized wings spray water up to 24" and are made of a semi-rigid plastic that reduces breakage when the bar hits the deck.

Fall Bluefin Tuna on Cape Cod | Lite Tackle Casting

The Salty Cape crew heads offshore with Capt. Rob Lowell of Cape Cod Offshore Charters in search of surface feeding fall bluefin tuna. They found fish keyed in on schools of butterfish near the surface, a perfect time to deploy the Hogy Charter Grade Slider.
