Turn-key. Tough. Fishy.

Description

The Hogy Protail Paddle is our testament to designing lures to catch fish, not fishermen. The Protail is made in just a few fishy colors for easy system integration, using a custom blend of virgin BASF plastic tuned for action and strength—erring on best-in-class performance, not making the cheapest option.

Our bodies have been obsessed over, from tail dynamics to reinforced battle hook pockets on the larger models. We’ve done all the obsessing so all you need to do is tie one on. No rigging. No tuning. No “magical” colors or limited runs. Just bad-ass swimbaits that catch big fish, every day.

    Versatile Bait

From bouncing on the bottom for shallow water lings/reds to casting for tuna/yellowtail this swimbait catches them all. The only downfall is that they're a softbait. So too pricey to use in certain areas where triggerfish are attacking your baits before the cabrilla or jacks can get to them. But besides that, they will catch almost anything from the Gulf of California to the Channel Islands. And for a softbait, they are very resilient. Was able to get 3 large wsb and countless sandbass, calicos, and spotties on the same bait. Video shows a wsb that inhaled this bait while slow rolling through its feeding grounds. And yes, it was cast again to catch another.

    pro tail

on a resent December trip to Florida i was fishing a canal just outside of Everglades and tied on a 3.5 " pro tail .I made a long cast to the edge of the weed line on the far side as the lure hit the water i thought nice shot,it ameadatly took off. after a 15 min. fight including some jogging to keep up i landed the biggest snook of my life.

Killer Plastic for Black and White Sea Bass

Just drop and pop and were hanging giant bsb and wsb. These 6.5 inch from 3-6 ozs were working just as well as bait and slow pitch jigs. I would say at times they were working much better. One day the black sea bass were only annihilating these plastics and would not touch anything else. Ended up with my pb wsb on the final day of my trip. Photo attached.

PS - Also included a pic of my smaller 42# fish to show you how they were inhaling these plastics.

Inlets and passes offer the perfect combination of forage, current, structure, and passageways between the ocean and inland waterways.
