Description

The Protail Swim Eel System Bundle is built for offshore tuna anglers who need a simple, natural, and highly effective softbait system for fishing mid-water marks, deep-current zones, post-feed tuna, and sand eel feeds.

This bundle includes the Protail Swim Eel 4-Pack in Ghost and Olive, paired with Deep Thumper Jig Heads in 4oz and 6oz. Together, this system gives you a fast-sinking, true-tracking eel presentation that can be cast, dropped, slow-pitched, swung through current, or worked vertically through marked fish.

When tuna are feeding deep, scattered, or locked onto narrow forage like sand eels, halfbeaks, or small mackerel, the Swim Eel gives you a more subtle alternative to metal. The long tapered profile, tight swimming tail, and balanced jig head pairing create a natural eel presentation that stays in the strike zone longer without excessive flash or vibration.

The 4oz head is ideal for lighter current, shallower marks, and controlled presentations higher in the water column. The 6oz head adds the extra reach needed for heavy current, deeper feeds, faster drifts, or fish pinned closer to bottom. Both sizes allow the Swim Eel to drop quickly, track straight, and maintain a clean swimming posture through the fall, lift, swing, or retrieve.

This is a turnkey tuna softbait system designed to fish smart and fish simple. Rig it when tuna are marking but not showing, when the feed has gone down, when sand eels are on the menu, or when fish are ignoring flashy metal. Cast it, drop it, reel it, pitch it, or dead-stick it in the zone — the Swim Eel does the work.

Great deal love the storage unit.

Amazing soft rubber baits high-quality with a great storage unit. I can see why these mesh wallets catch on it great for deeper water fishing with heavy jig heads using them for stripers now hope to use them for tuna later.

    Great action and durability

These plastics work great. They hold up to multiple fish and have great action. Would like some more obnoxious color choices for fishing deeper water

Going for Halibut, Skrej, Seawolf, Coal-fish and Redfish

The fish love the liveliness of the tails and I trust the robust and strong hooked jig heads from Hogy

    Going in August…. can’t wait…

    Big fish lure

I’m using the Slappy eel rigged on a jig head. I fish the Chesapeake bay and it’s tributaries for Stripers. It has big fish appeal and is versatile. Rigged on different weight jigs you can fish it from 5 to 80 ft. I got my first bag about two weeks ago and it has already accounted for several huge Strippers I’ve ordered two more bags. My only complaint is the absence of a hook slot to allow you to rig it with a weightless hook, that’s my reason for the 4 stars instead of 5
