Hogy Hybrid Conventional Rod: Parabolic Action 5'6" MH
We've designed this ultra-fun rod to be the perfect blend of parabolic action, length, weight, and function for light tackle inshore and offshore trolling. This no-frills workhorse conventional rod addresses the challenges we've had finding suitable tackle for trolling and jigging.
Why Parabolic Action and what is it? These rods offer a softer bend from the rod tip towards the butt section. This forgiving utility allows the angler to feel every pull of the drag and stroke of the fish's tail. This forgiveness is beneficial for trolling, allowing the rod to absorb the strike and offer firm hook sets while used for trolling applications.
The Hogy Hybrid Conventional Rod is built for pairing with compact, high-performance conventional reels, these rods are fantastic for lead-core & in-line weight trolling applications. A favorite technique for targeting Striped Bass, Bluefish, and school-sized Bluefin Tuna.

For accidental damage like car doors, boat hatches, tailgates or your cousin Jeff high sticking the rod while landing a fish, please reach out direct to us for repair or replacement options within the 1 year warranty period. Accidental damage rod replacements will have a $25 return shipment fee + replacement cost. Please reach out to customer service to file a warranty claim.

Wanted to try this rod out back when they first hit the market but inventory ran out. Pulled the trigger just before the first of July and finally got a chance today to put the rod through its paces today. Happy to say it preformed flawlessly. Love the shorter butt section for my daughter, who is my full time fishing partner, and love the versatility. Pulled 24” red Hogy tubes and some umbrella rigs with deep diving Rapala lures in CCB and the rod handled all tasks. Found some fish mid morning and my daughter landed her first 40” bass and I followed it up shortly after with one pushing 46”. I’ll surely be adding at least one more of these to the mix soon

I ordered two rods for trolling later this spring and summer on Cape Cod. I'm pairing them with Avet Sx5.3:1 reels and an 80 lb. braided line. We're going to use them for fishing charters on StPeteSportFishing. I can't wait to try them out, nice job Mike. These rods seem really well built with quality components.
