6'6" Hogy Hybrid Tuna Rod

System Role: The “One-Rod Quiver” for
casting and jigging

SKU: HT-HJCRMH-S
MSRP: $295.95

This rod bridges the gap between casting and jigging — a true hybrid design for tuna anglers who want the best of both worlds. At 6'6", it’s long enough for accurate casting with plugs and paddles, yet compact and balanced for vertical jigging. The moderate-fast action loads well on long casts and provides lifting power on the drop. A medium-length butt keeps it agile for stand-up jigging while maintaining comfort under arm during retrieves. Ideal with 14000–18000 class spinning reels, this is your One-Rod Quiver when you want to do it all.

Description:

This rod bridges the gap between casting and jigging — a true hybrid design for tuna anglers who want the best of both worlds. A medium-length butt keeps it agile for stand-up jigging while maintaining comfort under arm during retrieves. Ideal with 14000–18000 class spinning reels, this is your One-Rod Quiver when you want to do it all.

The moderate-fast action helps with casting distance, yet remains smooth and forgiving under vertical pressure. It’s the rod you bring when space is tight, decisions need to be fast, and your setup needs to handle casting sliders one minute and dropping jigs the next. Strong enough to fight deep fish, responsive enough to swim a popper, and short enough to save your back.

FAQ

Quick answers for most commonly asked questions about the The Hogy Lean Rod System

What makes this rod different from the 7' or 5'9" models?

It does both. The 7' casting rod is longer and optimized for topwater and sliders. The 5'9" jigging rod is compact and deeply parabolic. The 6'6" hybrid gives you crossover functionality: it can throw a 5oz slider with distance, or drop a 10oz jig 150 feet. It’s the perfect balance for captains, travelers, and minimalist setups.
